Why stop creating memories at the end of your family photoshoot when you can continue to experience and re-live your amazing photoshoot at a Preview Party! That’s what the Cooks and Richardson’s did last night. I had the extended family over to my place to enjoy light appetizers, drinks, great conversations, and viewing of their family photos on my big screen T.V. Their photos were previewed in a fun slideshow and each time someone really liked an image they would comment and share a memory. Then others would chip in with another memory. Everybody was ecstatic about the photos and memories created. At the end of the Preview Party, we discussed ordering canvases and other products so that they can display images on their walls for everyone to see.
It’s so interesting to see what images people like and love. Carley’s favourites were different than Erin’s and Cheryl’s top 5 were different then Jim’s. This is why I find it really hard to narrow down the selection. Everyone has a different perception of like. And this is why my style of family photography has developed into what it is today – Lifestyle photography with a dash of traditional flare. I gather lots of ‘In The Moment’ shots and posed shots so that a family’s story is revealed. It is these candid shots that I cannot throw away without editing as they are moments frozen in time and need to be shared. Thus, I end up providing my clients with LOTS and LOTS of images to choose from. LOL, I am sorry for over-whelming you with precious moments 😉
Here are some of the traditional images from the Cooks and Richardsons Preview Party. I will post ‘in the moment’ candid images in another post. Stay tuned.
