Wow, I must say that this past Saturday was an incredible day. As I write this post, I am still smiling.
You must be asking yourself…what could she have done that was so much fun?
Well, I attended my very 1st Bridal Show. Yep, my first one! Even though I’ve been photographing weddings for 5 years, I have yet to have a booth at one. I thought it would be a great way to promote and market myself. It ended up being a lot of fun work planning and implementing the booth. Hmmm, just like planning your wedding as there’s lots of details to take care of. I spent time designing and setting up my booth, creating material to give to the brides, and printing products to show them. I also asked Sarah, the owner of Serendipty Florals, if she wanted to display some of her beautiful bouquets in my booth – She said yes 🙂 All in all, I wanted brides to have a nice experience when they stepped into my booth and met me. And oh my goodness, I met so many amazing brides and learnt about their fabulous proposal and wedding plans. Every time a bride told me about her proposal she lite up and I got goosebumps. Oh my, I have goosebumps right now just thinking about some of the proposals I heard.
One in particular included the couple’s dog and how the dog brought the ring to the soon to be bride. It was a very cute proposal. Hint Hint Jamie 😉
At first I was nervous because I didn’t exactly know how to approach the brides, how to tell them about my services, or how to get them interested in my booth. But after my first conversation with a bride and her mom, I realized that the Bridal Show was a FUN Meet & Greet. And brides came to my booth.
With each bride I met, the conversation flowed and we enjoyed telling each other story’s. I showed them my photo books and other products I offered. And just before they stepped out of my booth I took two photos, one with my camera and another with my ‘Polaroid’ Fuji Instax 90 (I love this camera), all the while capturing a very special moment at the 2017 Bayshore Bridal Show – choosing a photographer.
I just finished editing the photos and emailed them to all the brides that stopped by. It’s my gift to them ☺ A big thank you to everyone who stopped by my booth and said hi. Here are some photos of the brides and some images from my phone that my sister took.
