R&R Rescue & Resort is run by married partners, Rachel Salisbury and Robert Given. See our Bio section to learn more about each of us. We both have a lifetime of love for animals. We have done dog boarding together as a team since 2012. We started working with other rescue organizations in 2015. Late 2018 we purchased a property that allowed us to open up our own animal rescue and boarding service, run from our home. We have plans of expansion in the future
At R&R Rescue & Resort, we believe that “every animal deserves love”. Animal rescue is our passion, and we put our heart and soul into every animal we work with.
About the R&R Rescue & Resort Pet Calendar Contest
Enter your pet (dog or cat) and vote for your favourites to win a spot (or the coveted cover) in the 2025 R&R Rescue & Resort pet calendar, all while raising much-needed funds for the rescue! 100% of all calendar contest entries, votes, and subsequent calendar sales go directly to R&R Rescue & Resort.

FAQs
Absolutely, but there is a limit of one pet per photo entry. Each pet must be entered into the contest individually. People are not allowed in photos, only your pet. Photos that do not follow the rules will be removed and will not be eligible to win with no opportunity for a refund.
All breeds from all backgrounds are welcome and encouraged to enter. Submit your favorite photo of your pets and ask your family and friends to vote for them!
The winners of the photo contest will be determined by the top 13 entrants that get the most votes. The top winner will win the coveted cover photo for the 2025 calendar! 2nd – 13th place winners will have their pet featured as a pet of the month. The top 13 vote getters will have their pet professionally photographed by Candra Schank Photography for the 2025 calendar. All winners will have the opportunity to upgrade to a full session and/or purchase products following their session if desired.
Complimentary calendar contest mini sessions will be held on pre-determined saturday in April & May 2024 at Candra Schank Photography’s Studio. Upgraded calendar contest sessions will be held at either the studio or a picturesque location in Owen Sound. Exact details will be provided to winners upon completion of the calendar contest.
All proceeds from contest entries and votes along with subsequent calendar sales directly support R&R Rescue & Resort with rescuing and re-homing animals in Grey & Bruce and the surrounding areas.
Absolutely, and while there is no obligation, many calendar contest winners choose to! Candra Schank Photography specializes in beautiful, one-of-a-kind artwork to celebrate the bond between pets and their people.
Calendars are not included with the session but may be purchased when they become available online in late 2024. All calendar sale proceeds are donated to R&R Rescue & Resort.
